Hanyang University is one of a big universities within South Korea. These are located in Seoul, with another campus in the suburban city of Ansan. Now, on the 2 campuses there are all about 24,000 students & 2,000 staff including faculty. HU is especially notable for its emphasis in engineering & applied social sciences.

History
Hanyang University began when Donga Engineering Institute in 1939. At a period, it offered instruction within Troika engineering cases: civil, measurement, & mining. Within 1948, this school was renamed Hanyang Engineering College. A title Hanyang University was utilized from either 1959, when it officially gained university status. A 2nd campus was established inside Ansan at 1979.
